Edward has over six (6) years of... read more Andreau Edward Charles is a final year Bsc. Student of Social Work with emphasis on HIV/AIDS and its impact on children and the family at the University of Guyana. Edward has over six (6) years of experience working with children and families infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. He is a strong advocate for the de-stigmatisation of HIV/AIDS/PLWHA, youth participation and promotion of child protection. Edward sits on many committees responsible for HIV/AIDS policy development and service delivery. He has been leading interventions with children, young people and adults since 1999 and currently heads the Guyanese Youth Network + (GYN+) www.gyn.org,gy -- an NGO focus on providing support to children who are orphans and made vulnerable as a result of HIV/AIDS and young people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and drug related illnesses in Guyana. He is the GYCA Regional Focal Point for the Caribbean and is building local, regional and international networks that will allow young AIDS activist to collaborate, share information, resources and best practices.
