you have a way with pictures and expression... "we scream to avoid suffering in silence" one of the best pictures i have ever seen against oppression and the desire to be heard

This piece of artwork is remarkable, Jarra. I'm impressed with the way you have chosen to interpret a real life protest into art to express your own attitude towards a corrupt government.
Also, the photo itself is skillfully taken. I admire the lighting. The way your sister's eyes are incased in shadow brings out a dark, somber mood.
Well done, I'm sure this photo won't fail to impress anyone!

This photo reminded me to be thankful that where I live, we have freedom of speech, and that we should feel very grateful for it, because not everyone in this world has the oppurtunities that we do, which we often take for granted. Nice job.

2003 - Detained refugees in an Australian desert detention facility sew their mouths closed in a hunger strike to protest against apalling treatment and living conditions.

This is a virtually untouched BW image. No visual effects.
My sister posed with sewing thread adhered with glue, garnished with cover-up, vegemite, honey and tomato sauce.
