People to People International, an organization dedicated to cross-cultural understanding, believes art is a universal language. In 2002, we organized our first Global Youth Murals project, which invites students worldwide to create artwork illustrating their cultures and communities, and their ideas about friendship and “Peace through Understanding.” Global Youth Murals is an annual project. Murals are exhibited at different venues year-round. Approximately six murals are chosen annually to receive awards and are featured in PTPI’s magazine entitled People.
