Why We Are Alone?

Posted on Mar 3, 2012  |   993 views

My art work takes a critical view of social body and cultural issue, I am expressing various meanings indirectly by using symbols, and I leave a part of the interpretation to spectators. In my work called”why we are alone?”, figures have no specific identity or gender because they are symbols of the humanity. This characteristic of the bodies, also, is originated from the concept of plurality of the society we live in. These figures write the missing values in our lives on their own body in my maternal language (Farsi). Farsi is the language I learned poetry and literature with and it would be difficult for me to translate and convey my feelings in another language. As an immigrant, I strongly believe that the missing values in different cultures and societies are the same.
