I was looking at this piece again and it reminds me of a verse in a Portuguese song I am learning. It is a sad love song, one which is very dear to many Brazilians, entitled Beijo Partido,\" Good bye kiss\". The word partido can also mean bronken in two. The verse in the song that it makes me think of goes like this, \" Hoje nao passa de um vaso quebrado no peito, e grito\" Translated to the best of my ability it means: \"Today does not pass from a broken glass in the chest. And I cry out\".
