Derick in Tunnel

The power of sound, simmering into deepest levels of our soul, rustling in us, the undemanding essence of jazz, the feeling it induces in us to swallow every note up and down the scale, in whatever key, from whatever stage, be it the stage of the Opera House in Sydney, or the Streets of Harlem, the sonance of the saxophone, can you hear it? The echo of undersong, the smooth stridency coming out from the bedlam, the belief that this man's lungs blows into us the music of grace on this night where the humanity waits to go home.
