I spent my childhood and teen years living on a... read more Boozhoo, Salu, I am TIG's Aboriginal Network Coordinator, and very soon I shall be updating and adding content to the Aboriginal Portal site. I spent my childhood and teen years living on a reservation in northwestern Ontario. At an early age, I learned to fish, harvest rice, and prepare wild game. It was wonderful to grow up in an Ojibwe enriched culture, but also frightening to witness the violence and poverty around me. As a teenager, I found refuge in writing and painting and in communicating with other people in a virtual world. I hope that the Aboriginal Portal will provide youth with a safe space to communicate ideas and express their creativity. I am currently finishing up a BA in philosophy, obsessed with French new wave cinema, and listening to Leonard Cohen. Jamie
