Mission/Vision
Tabaka artisan Centre is a youth self help group community based organisation ( CBO\'s) found Western Kenya, Gucha district Tabak area. llt is about 400km from Nairobi city and is between Kisii Migori. lt was formed by artisans and is the local lead agency of Global Youth service ( GYSD)
ORGANIZATION MISSION
1. Eradicate poverty in our community and others.
2. To receive fair returns for our labour.
3. To provide for future livehood of our Children
4. To engage young people ( Youths) voluntary impliments to achieve the millenium development goals.
5. To be an example for the community particularly for artisans of the area, sharing that self determination achievable goals.
What does the organization do?
The organization does the following activities
1. Makes ( handicrafts) soapstone carvings which is the primary source of income in our community and is found in bulk. The organization makes high qualkity products designs, natural and decoratives eg flower vase holders, candle holders, scruptures,plates bowls coaster eggs hearts, pen holders and mobilize young ( youths) voluntary for contibutions events and campaigns.
2. To develop and inspiring youth leadership in the community
3. To address awareness of HIV/AIDS, other diseases and disasters.
Opportunities for Youth
The youth role is
1. To voluntary insipring information, campaigns addressing meetings, seminars events.
2. Demonistrations concerts,poems and songs.
3. To create measurable, positive impact to the community for achieving goals.
4. Environment health
5. Help those with special needs ( volunatry)
