These 'talibe' wanted me to take their picture. The young boys have been sent by their families to study the Koran in cities, in exchange for food and clothing from the spiritual leader, or Marabout. They spend their days begging on the streets, collecting money in tin cans. It is questionable whether they in fact study the Koran at more than a basic level, and whether their basic needs are met. I do now know how the marabout divides the money collected. less «
