This photo, despite it's eerie and prehistoric feel of temperate rainforest being pierced by fingers of sunlight, is in fact a brilliant depiction of the battle for Australia's old growth forests. The mist is in fact soil dust, kicked up by a passing logging truck, removing trees from only a few hundred metres down the road. This very piece of forest is tagged for logging in the next few years.
Can we justify the dismemberment of such natural treasures?
