Description:
Ten learners from East Bank High School in Alexandra Township, Johannesburg documented the repercussions of school-dropouts in their community. Their photos and videos were displayed at a community exhibition for their family members, peers, and community members to see. The project was part of an Umuzi Photo Club initiative to give youth a platform for their voices to be heard. This is one of several "Vandals" or "baby totsis" (gangsters) that Tebogo Bedibe documented in Alex. She wanted to show how it has become cool for young boys to drop out of school and do petty crimes. less «
