Beach Life

I know I am blessed to be living right on the beach (this is my front yard!) I live with a bunch of boys in a beach shack in Palm Beach, Queensland Australia. This is one of the shoes that had been sitting dusty and unused in a corner of the house since I moved in so I decided to give it new life. We are doing a plant swap this Christmas where I work (Patagonia Burleigh Heads) and it is now on display in our front window (with a note asking, "Where do our shoes go when we throw 'um away". I didn't have to be too sneaky about leaving in this spot, but I know it will have maximum exposure and get a lot of people thinking about all the stuff they have, the things they don't use, the environment and our impact on it, as well as new life and the endless possiblities of recycling and reusing. It helps with idea Patagonia has of reimagining a world where we take only what nature can replace. The cutting I used is a succulent that thrives in the dry, salty surroundings near the beach. My name is Christina Kamaka O Kalani Henline, I am 28 years old and originally from Hawaii. I moved to Australia ten years ago. I surf daily, am a primary school teacher and I love the vision of your company. Happy Holidays. Aloha :)
