It is a non-profit making, non-partisan, non-racial and non-ethnic centered organization; which aims at using trained volunteers to improve the pupils’ academic results in English, Mathematics, and Science (EMS) and also organize free mobile training in the use of computers in rural Ghana. We provide training to our volunteers and relocate them to sectors where their services are most needed. As a non-governmental organization, we also aim at promoting good and quality education in all the rural and remote communities in Ghana through the distribution of educational materials such as text books, dictionary, novels, story books among others and assist in the renovation and building of schools, computer labs and libraries in communities. The promotion of quality education in these deprived communities came as a result of our numerous trips and research to all these communities and the poor performance in the “Basic Education Examination Certificate” BECE results over the past years. We realize that education available to these rural communities is very low as a result of inadequate number of teachers, lack of educational facilities, learning and teaching aids among others. We also realize that most of these children have no or very little knowledge of the use of computer. In one of our trips, some students were identified of which majority did not have a firsthand encounter with a computer. Ghana Rural Educational Empowerment is gradually creating a learning environment that is a valuable resource to children, aspiring mentors, tutors and the community at large.
