Why can't we all enjoy same rights?

This is board before you enter the famous temple- Jagannath at Puri, Orissa (India). This temple allows only Hindus to enter. I wonder whats wrong with people following other religions? We all are similar. We all are human.And i think, we all have right to enter a public place.
