World War 2 Memorial

This cemetery houses the remains of soldiers and officers who gave their lives in World War 2. Kachanaburi, which is famous for the Death Railway and the Bridge on the River Kwai, was the scene of bloody battles between Japanese and the Allies. The cemetery which built by the Thai Government a few thousand graves of servicemen from Britain, Holland, Australia and India. Most of those buried were under the age of thirty.
