Urban Sprawl

This is a new subdivision being built right across from a farm. You can see the farm’s silo in the background of the photo. This shows us that the rural area is being built on, creating an urban space and forcing the farmers in the area to move. The area is growing in population and it is decreasing our land for crop production. However there is not much we can do to stop the sprawl, because the land value is increasing, making it very appealing for land owners to sell to developers. (By Katelyn)
