Body/Light/Landscape
I created this as a response to the following objectives:

Body /Landscape/Space
Consider the body as any/all of the following: natural, social, built, organizational. The experience of the body as landscape can be diverse and embedded in various contexts whether spatial, temporal, cultural, historical, conceptual, spiritual. Consider the body as spatial metaphor, the body in protective space, alien space, etc. Begin preliminary ideas in class time on large brown paper.

Body/Light
Explore the body in any one of the following ways: light falling on the body; inner illumination; light as absolute measure of body; light and color; vision(s), etc. Begin preliminary ideas in class time on large brown paper.

Body/Culture:
The theme of this painting should suggest a position of how the body is represented in contemporary culture through various forms of media: body as defined by culture; substitutes for body, virtual body; body as image, image of body; body as social/peer measure; commerce of body; ideal body, etc.
