By placing myself next to historical Canadian bronze sculptures like that of King Edward VII in Queens Park while wearing sculptural hybrid art objects I created, an african basket attached to football helmet has a crown and a walking stick attached to a Canadian Ojiibway trademark paddle as a staff. I reference the many cultural influences of my own identity as an Artist who is part of the African diaspora living in Canada. I create my own visual dialogue of what it means to be Canadian and the role that I play in the creation of it's history, time and place.
