But do we actually take action? There is only a little percentage of people that do. We all know the expression “It’s easier said than done” and we are all conscious of our actions. We could at least try to make a difference either it’s a small gesture or a big one. One of man’s biggest problems, is that we live in a world of technology and advanced science. I remember when I was 8 years old I used to play Nintendo 64. They were the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, PlayStation (1, 2 & 3) and so on. In less than 12 years, we went to VHS movies to 3D televisions! In the near future, we might even be able to talk to people through a hologram like in Star Wars. It’s incredible the way we’re moving to fast. Furthermore, not only is technology taking over our minds but how about our mobile phones? We’re becoming a more and more materialist society. We barely talk face to face anymore, because texting is a lot faster and less complicated since we are all busy. I’m well aware that we are in a generation filled with technology but that’s my point. Aren’t we exaggerating? For example, here’s another fun fact: giving birth to a 24-week-old baby. You may ask yourself, what does this have anything to do with technology? Well, today, we are able to give life to a 24-week-old baby, which is only 5 months. There is a high percentage that these children will have a handicap. Doctors know this risk and yet they take it anyways. Why? For one simple reason; they want to test their new toys and advances in technology. We are defying the principals of life; we are playing with human lives and their quality of life. I’m starting to think that there will never be a compromise to all of this. We can’t stop producing new products and stop moving forward with technology because it is who we’ve become. We always want more and we will do anything to have it. How is it, it’s been a billion years that we exist on planet Earth and that it’s now damaged more than ever? It was fine before. Our generation is the cause of its near death. We are destroying our planet in many ways, such as advanced technology, which will lead to the end of mankind.
