Posted on Dec 4, 2010  |   2647 views

This piece shows the effects that the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV had upon a young person. As people begin to discriminate the person's dreams become crushed and their spirit is shattered as they are shunned from society. The disfigured face is symbolic of the fact that you cannot tell by looking who has HIV and therefore it is best not to discriminate. The piece is set in a beautiful Barbadian landscape but the indivisual is within a house and shows that even within a beautiful world full of hope one can withdrawn due to discrimination. theme- s&d
