Famine

Famine had been a recurrent feature of life the Indian subcontinental countries of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have faced. This price was inspired by the tragedy of this reality. In this painting a woman holds her hand out as if she were begging for food. Her surroundings seem Barron and the consistent use of yellow hints at a drought, this is because Indian agriculture is heavily dependent on climate.
