Culture,tradition, religion and political situation enslaved her from been free, violating her basic human right. She observed the freedom of animals (fish) from her imprisonment, freedom therefore becomes something seen at distance and not obtainable. Metaphorically, the water represent the culture, tradition, religion and political situation of our country and the fish movement represent freedom, while the lady through the small opening of her encasement is able to observe freedom but couldn't obtain it. Her expression which is sad and mournful depict the state of a citizen whose freedom has been violated.
