Into the Moonlit Forest
Acrylic on 18x24 stretched canvas with painted staple free sides. Varnished for protection.
I painted this piece on a rainy day in October. It was so cold it felt like the rain should be snow. The trees had turned and some leaves had fallen, yet still colorful. I was in a kind of creepy, whimsicle mood, wanting it to snow on the fallen leaves, the moonlight to drench the snow in sparkling silver rays. That mood is expressed in the colors used in the painting, also the shape and placement of the trees, and the stormy night sky in the background.
